Uploading Data to PEMdata.com

PEMdata supports PEM, PEM2, Climate Notebook .dbf and .csv files.

Attention: Within Climate Notebook, each data notebook is associated with three different files: a notebook file (.nbk), a database file (.dbf), and a configuration file (.cdx). ONLY the Climate Notebook database file (.dbf) can be uploaded to the PEMdata website. The database files should be found with your .nbk files, wherever you are saving them on your local computer.

To upload data to the PEMdata website, click Upload Data. Use the Browse button to locate the data file you would like to upload. For detailed instructions with screenshots, download the instructional PDF.

If you have saved a location name in your datalogger, the dataset will appear in your PEMdata account with the location name from the datalogger. If you have not saved a location name in your datalogger, the dataset will appear in your PEMdata account with the serial number of the datalogger. (Refer to the PEMdata Configuration Utility section to save a location name in your PEM2.)

You can also rename a dataset at any time from the Utilities page in your PEMdata account. However, we recommend assigning a name to each PEM2 before uploading your data to the PEMdata website. This will ensure a consistent name for each dataset and reduce the possibility of duplicate datasets with different names.

How to upload data from HOBO dataloggers

It is now possible to view and analyze data from HOBO dataloggers within PEMdata. Note: Raw data files directly from the HOBO loggers are not accepted but the conversion process is easy- simply export your HOBO data from HOBOware Pro and upload the resulting CSV file into your PEMdata account.
  1. From HOBOWare Pro, open the desired HOBO logger data file.
  2. Choose to plot only the Temperature and Relative Humidity measurements from the data file.

  3. The file will appear on the graph in the HOBOWare Pro Software.

  4. From the main menu, go to File, then choose "Export Table Data".

  5. The Export Options dialogue will appear. Choose to "Export to a single file", making sure to use the program's default export settings.

  6. The "Save to csv file" dialogue box will appear. Enter a file name and location to be saved, then click "Save".
Note: After saving the export, do not open the file in any other program. If you do need to view the file, make a copy first.

  7. This file can then be uploaded into PEMdata on the Upload Data page.
